Captain Kostas (Konstantinos) Karavasilis is a Greek Master Mariner and the UK P&I Club’s Regional Loss Prevention Director for Greece. He joined the Club in 2019 after serving as Claims Manager with a hull insurer. With 31 years in the maritime industry—15 at sea on bulk carriers and cruise ships and 16 in marine insurance—he supports local and international Members on operational risk, casualty prevention, and practical safety management. An Associate Average Adjuster, he is also certified by Lloyd’s Register as an ISM and ISPS Internal Auditor. Kostas delivers crew seminars, supports incident learning and investigation readiness, and regularly contributes as a speaker and delegate at maritime forums, promoting human-centred, workable loss-prevention standards across the Greek and International shipping communities. He is an active HELMEPA member representing the UK P&I Club.
